Association Compassion is a charitable, secular, impartial and independent organization with the prime objective of helping disabled war veterans and handicapped children in Vietnam. The organization’s headquarters are located in Montreal, Canada.

The association is run by volunteers. Its Executive Committee works under the leadership of a Board of Directors, made up of volunteers and members from various humanitarian organizations.

The work to help disabled war amputees began over ten years ago as the result of the initiative of a group of ex-patriots living abroad, the late Mr. Lê Đình Vọng, Dr. Nguyễn Liên Hương, etc. Today, the association has expanded into Vietnamese communities across the world. There are now over 20 associations, supported by over fifty publications, which have provided assistance to no less than 6000 war vets.

The objective of this website is to use the Internet to increase our reach to inform and help us collect the funds needed to continue our work of helping and feeding the handicapped, the needy.

We extend an invitation to other humanitarian and relief organizations doing similar work with homeless children or other underprivileged groups, to use our site as a tool to promote their cause and raise funds. This website, it is hoped, will serve the interests of both the needy seeking help and the humanitarian and relief organizations by providing a mechanism for improved communications and access.

Our association works closely with other partners in Europe, in the US and other countries. It is our belief that only through a collaborative effort, can we be effective in dealing with the monumental task of helping the world’s underprivileged and reducing human suffering.

The problem of war amputees and handicapped children specifically, and the underprivileged generally, remains a major challenge for all of us who want to help. We sincerely hope that this site will provide a platform to assist all organizations trying to make a difference.
